Celebrating 3 Years of Sobriety

On July 15th, 2025, I will be celebrating 3 years of complete sobriety. No alcohol, no marijuana, no psychedelics. Just raw doggin’ life.

Truly, my life has improved tremendously. I feel so much better nowadays, even in the worst moments. I have much better decision-making skills, and my judgment is not as clouded. I can think so much more clearly. I have also lost around 50 pounds!

I accomplished things that I don’t think I would have accomplished had I still been in active addiction. For example, I traveled by myself to two different countries (Italy and Thailand). I built a PC. I transitioned to full-time at my company and started going into the office and connecting in person with my colleagues. I started going back to school to earn a graduate certificate. I started dating! Dating is horrible, by the way, but I am able to handle moments of irritation or discomfort with so much more ease than before.

Maybe at some point, I’ll write about my rock bottom and how I managed to climb out of it. If you are struggling with addiction, you’re not alone! Please reach out to others and tell them your story, tell them what’s going on. There are communities of people around the world who will welcome you and offer support. Give it a chance.
